The Church Basement Ladies on Screen!
The Church Basement Ladies musicals have been licensed in 48 states and Canada. Millions of people have fallen in love with these characters and often ask, “When are the Church Basement Ladies going to appear on screen?”
Good news! In the Basement Productions began shooting footage for a potential “Church Basement Ladies” sitcom in Jan 2026. Take a look at some “behind the scenes” footage!
The current sitcom footage was filmed on our theatrical set, but the hope is to eventually film on location at an actual church – like Calvary Lutheran Church in Stanchfield, MN. Located in rural MN, Calvary has served as inspiration for the scriptwriter over the years.
Calvary was founded in 1870 by 54 immigrant settlers of Swedish descent. Altho the congregation in our fictional church is Norwegian(!), the history of the two churches run parallel, and much of Calvary’s interior has reamined unchanged since the early 1900’s.
